SINGAPORE: St. Anthony's Canossian Secondary School choir has returned to Singapore with two gold medals from the prestigious International Festival of Song in Prague. As the only Asian entrant out of 127 choirs from around the world, the troupe sang their way to second position overall. "The best part probably was that we learnt a lot of new things, like learning to accommodate one another... tolerate one another, and at the same time we worked [towards] and achieved a common goal," said Liau Kai Xin, Choir Member, St. Anthony's Cannosian Secondary School. The girls’ parents and teachers agree that winning was great, but the journey to victory was even better. "In education values, they really learned how to focus, how to strive for their own goals, so that is something I am very happy about," said Taw Sio Ling, Head of Co-Curricular Activities, St. Anthony's Cannosian Secondary School. "They performed in very difficult circumstances, they learned to cope with the stress of competition... and they've come through. I think that will stand them in good stead in life, later on," said Melanie Martens, Principal, St. Anthony's Cannosian Secondary School. - CNA/yy

Tribute to National Stadium
This is a tribute to the National Stadium...
Whom stood for many celebrations, sporting events and glory.
Went to national stadium to shoot with gerald, jiexiang, fifi, patrick, nicholas and few other friends.

The stadium source of life.
The old sticky running track.
The field from where I saw that score board.
One of the mightly gurdians.
The old sticky running track.
The field from where I saw that score board.
One of the mightly gurdians.
The shotput pit aimed far and wide...
Another gurdian at Gate 3.
Even the users enjoy relaxing here.
The stand where the important people sat.
And saw the sea of Singaporeans all around them.
Who are these speacial seats for I asked myself...
Tried to looked for clue under them...
But the nice sunset was all that I witnessed.
Couldn't help but to stay and watch a while more.
Eventually, it all ended nicely.
