Human cheek cells

This is human cheek cells (mine).


Under the microscope, you will be able to see
  • Nucleus
  • Cell membrane
The human cheek cells are not connected in an orderly manner.
Human cheek cells are spread out.
The cells are transparent and thus, we need to stain them (with iodine).

Onion epidermal cells

This is an image of a onion epidermal (skin) cells.


Under the microscope, you will be able to see
  • Nucleus
  • Cellulose cell wall
  • Faint image of the central vacuole
The onion epidermal cells are arranged in a neat manner.
Onion epidermal cells do not have chloroplast as they are found underground.
